SEL200600G for flowers and insects (with extension tubes) - stoppingdown - 07-03-2023

At last I was able to test the Sony 200-600mm with flowers and insects... and it's very good. With extension tubes AF-S is very hesitant (probably because when shooting in a blossomed field you have lots of blurred things in the line of sight), but AF-C is still very quick and reliable.

Some samples, waiting for a complete review that I'm writing.

All shots with a flower have been taken with the SEL200600G; no extension tubes in the former gallery; 26mm of extension tubes in the latter (with the exception of the first two butterflies — the first three photos in the latter gallery have been taken with the Sigma 105mm ƒ/2.8).

U r probably the only person on the planet using the 200-600mm for macro work ;-)

Excellent work !!! well done
The photos are great no doubt, just one suggestion concerning the galleries, I don't think having 2 photos of the same subject although from a different angle in a gallery would be a good thing, Although the decision is hard but you have to choose only one, even if the other is also great, Just my humble opinion though

toni-a, you're right. I know that I have to prune the galleries (even those in the past). Actually I continuously work on them removing items (sometimes adding some). The problem is that I do this job incrementally in spare time, so it never ends...

Nice shooting SD .......

.... I had some good results using the AF-S 500mm F4D and extension tubes shooting butterflies .. I guess I should try it again with the 600mm FL ...
