Canon 1DX mkII - toni-a - 02-01-2016 At canonrumors too many details and specifications revealed. If those turn out true we have a new beast. http://www.canonrumors.com/announcing-the-canon-eos-1d-x-mark-ii/ Canon 1DX mkII - JJ_SO - 02-01-2016 yes, 16 fps in LiveView, are you listening, Nikon? And not only 30 secs 4K Canon 1DX mkII - Brightcolours - 02-01-2016 A dealer put the specs on a webpage too early, so it is a real "leak" and not a rumor. Some of the spec highlights (compared to D5)
Canon 1DX mkII - davidmanze - 02-02-2016 http://www.lcegroup.co.uk/New/Canon-EOS-1D-X-Mark-II_10818.html 29.99 minutes of 4K video announced! Canon 1DX mkII - toni-a - 02-02-2016 What's the point for video of having 4K video when it doesn't go beyound 3 minutes ? Nikon D500 can already do this. We need answers from Nikon for this. Maybe it will be solved in the upcoming firmware otherwise this is a very serious weak point Canon 1DX mkII - JJ_SO - 02-02-2016 Naaa, we don't need answers from Nikon. Canon always was the better choice when it comes to video. The little detail I just found on DPReview: The screen of the new Canon reacts as touchscreen, as soon as you record video. Meaning: Tap on the screen, foucs jumps to the point you were tapping at. That's IMO the best way to do that. The D500 has an articulated screen, finally and also a touchscreen, but the D5? Has a touchscreen, too, I just couldb't find a manual to confirm this function. Canon 1DX mkII - Brightcolours - 02-02-2016 The 1D-X mkII sensor also has an improved micro lens and top of the sensor structure, to capture more light, and on chip ADC to get less read noise. Also, for enlarging parts by double tapping on an area. It lets you set the AF spot in live view mode, and in live view mode tap where the camera should set its custom WB from. The D5 lacks the Canon's smooth and fast movie servo AF, so that touch screen focus in movie mode makes less sense on the D5? http://cdn-4.nikon-cdn.com/e/Q5NM96RZZo-YRYNeYvAi9beHK4x3L-8go_p7JUL6JpQMwSj_xzTyyQ==/PDF/D5_Brochure.pdf Canon 1DX mkII - Brightcolours - 02-02-2016 In my above points I was wrong about the D5's FPS thing: if you buy the single most expensive XQD card it will do 14bit RAW in a 200 image buffer too, according to Nikon specs.
