Well actually, Canon had been guilty of unleashing similarly trivial upgrades in the past (20D -> 30D or, perhaps most egregiously, 650D -> 700D). Not sure that anyone had been "raving" about any of those, though.

But the Leica land is the kingdom of absurdity for all but a handful of those enlightened who see reason and sense there that others do not.
