Not really a light weight, for an f4.8 lens...

I never was very interested in that lens, and especially not for $700. I think that telezooms make much more sense on DSLRs than on mirrorless cameras anyway, because of their size and weight, and for that price I would probably buy a cheap DSLR with a kit telezoom instead.

 

What I would love to see instead is a moderately fast 90 or 100mm lens (135-150mm equivalent), something like the Olympus 75mm, that would serve for tele-photos and portraits.

It seems similar to the canon 70-300 (for full frame); wonder how it will performs.

If Fuji get this one right it will clinch the system deal for many, so far all the lenses have excellent characteristics so it will be interesting to see what this forthcoming longer zoom brings. Then its a bit of a wait for the balance of the 1.4 primes.
