Definitely rough. I wonder how it looks between f/5.6 and f/14. Not sure I'd use f/14 a lot though.

It would be crazy to make a 560mm for only APS-C, as the lens will not be much smaller/lighter/cheaper fot APS-C than for FF... Tele lenses do not shrink much. The "DA" would suggest APS-C, but there are other DA lenses which cover FF.
The bokeh indeed looks quite horrid in that f14 shot, but I do not get the f14 choice anyway. With bigger apertures the horrid bokeh will be hidden in blur, so It might not be a real biggie.

I presume this lens covers the 24x36 image circle. The problem is rather that this kind of long-focus lens (it is definitely not a telephoto lens: its length + flange distance equals its focal length), deriving from a telescope formula, usually suffers from poor borders; in such case the APS-C format would be the "sweet spot" of the lens.

Hi,
No-one is certain whether it covers FF,I think if I remember rightly at Photokina Pentax when asked, gave an evasive answer which indicated that maybe it just did, but with strong vignetting. Pentax Forums will be testing the lens and then we will know for sure. Anyway as a Pentax user, I feel relatively insulted that after all the calls for a long telephoto, instead of bringing out an affordable telephoto around the 400-500 mark at say $1500-2000 they decide to bring out a monster for $7000 that very few Pentaxians can afford. But it dates back to the days of Hoya.

I see, thank you for the links. I don't think I've heard about this before.

It doesn't get used like this anyway.. We always talk about telelenses with longer lenses (but real tele lenses have disappeared since a loooong time in photography)
