Quite nice although a bit decentered at 18mm.

Actually I purchased the 18-200mm is a plain shop. :-)

Unfortunately I have not received the Z24/2 yet. I reckon it'll take a while.

In that case, I am assuming you also have 18-55 and 16mm? When will be those reviews posted?

Well, I will return the NEX-5 kit because the centering defect of the 18-200mm OS so these reviews will have to wait a little while.

Amazed at how little vignetting this lens has (seems a bit better than the competition); then again 6.3 max ap @ long end seems a bit weak. Certainly not the optimal lens for shallow dof.

Does a miniature camera make sense here ?

Then again does a small camera add much value with a huge lens ?

As mentioned it is a conventionally sized universal zoom which is just as big or small as other APS-C competitors. If it was smaller it would have been worse. I think the Pana 14-140 has been shrinked to a degree where it can be called underdesigned again. Personally I cheer Sony for not have taken this approach. As far as I can tell the RAWs are untouched thus the real thing.

Besides - it's really a beauty. :-) The camera itself is actually too small but the rather "big" lens helps to handle it IMHO.

Thanks for the review, Klaus.

About the RAWs... what did you use to process them? If it's Sony IDC, vignetting correction is turned 'on' by default as are most other things. If you could clarify this it would be great.

Thanks!
