Thank you very much for your advice. When I switch to Windows I'll take a long hard look at it.

Windows 7 does work very, very well for me, since the betas already. I am currently running 64-bit 7, and I haven't looked back since. I have been using Windows since Windows 386, and 7 is the most stable version there ever was, for me anyway, even better than XP.
The only thing that is a minor point, is that some older hardware (e.g. old printers and scanners) may not work with it, as there may not be any drivers for it.
Kind regards, Wim
Gear: Canon EOS R with 3 primes and 2 zooms, 4 EF-R adapters, Canon EOS 5 (analog), 9 Canon EF primes, a lone Canon EF zoom, 2 extenders, 2 converters, tubes; Olympus OM-D 1 Mk II & Pen F with 12 primes, 6 zooms, and 3 Metabones EF-MFT adapters ....

I'll do the same. I have 8GB memory.

Thanks for the warning but it's O.K. I have no old HW.

I don't know if it will work ... but rather than letting the XP run in VirtualBox, you could try "Wine".
I cannot tell if DPP will run under wine ... but if it does, it will be considerably faster than
within the VirtualBox.

I tried WINE. It works well with DPP3.1 but I have a 7D and it does not work with DPP3.8.

Just recently (16. July) a new version (1.2) was released ... it might be worth a retry.
