As mentioned - the Samyang has as many contacts/pins as Canon RF lenses.

An EF adapted lens has as many contacts/pins as a Canon RF lens too...

So let me summarize this:
* the number of contacts/pins is the same between EF/RF mount
* there are simple adapters that just do a 1:1 mapping
But how do you know whether Samyang uses the EF or RF protocol?

I have no idea what Samyang is using/doing.
RF has 4 more pins, I do not know how many are used (other than not all are currently in use).
RF is not clocked, EF has a pin to clock the communication (that was faster back in the day). So it is safe to say that pins change function depending on whether EF or RF protocol is used.
