On a serious note, I could easily imagine that sensors mess up the bokeh of a lens. The lensing in the sensor could easily modify the pattern. After all they are just another few lens elements to add to the optical train.

Yes, but we are talking about a lens in front of a single photodiode. How could this lens mess up things ?
I think that the general color rendition & contrast could mess up the bokeh but this is not really a sensor thing but a setting.
