Sigma & Tamron did have a 24-135 each but I'm not sure you'd want to touch either with a ten foot pole, especially on FF...

The Sigma is f/2.8-4.5 but rather hard to find, and I'm really not sure it's usable anywhere near wide open. I only saw it in the wild once, but haven't tried as it was in Nikon mount.

You may've been asking too much from it... a $400 f/2.8 lens isn't very likely to be critically sharp wide open. Not even a $1000 lens is guaranteed to be sharp wide open (not the FF ones, anyways).
