Then what did you have in mind?

Your post states that APS-C somehow has a "greater DOF". And then you talk about using the same lens with the same position. In this scenario, APS-C has a smaller DOF. Not "greater" DOF. Same with when you crop on the computer. The more you crop, the smaller the DOF becomes.



And as I pointed out, comparing FF and APS-C makes no sense this way. It only makes sense with equivalent focal lengths.

And here, with two different focal lengths, the shorter focal length will have the bigger DOF (with the same f-value). So, yes, APS-C.

But when you realize that the f-value is the focal length divided by aperture.... you also realize that you should use similar apertures instead of same f-values, and then the DOF is similar.



Hence: DOF is mostly aperture size depend.
