For what it may be worth to other people pondering the same choice, this weekend I came across the Canon 15-85mm in Mediamarkt for 640 euro and I bought it, and here is my reasoning:



- ideal range on an crop camera. You can go out for the day with just this lens.

- good image quality



For portraits and low light I will use the 50mm 1.8.



My setup is now:

EOS 60D

Sigma 10-20 3.5 (to be replaced with Sigma 8-16 if it fetches enough second hand)

Canon 15-85

Canon 50mm 1.8

Canon 70-200 L

Metz flash
