"The future for toy cameras is mirrorless."
I don't agree that mirrorless are "toys". The other day I was shooting a skiing event and I thought that it would have been great to have fast AF and longer reach. Imagine the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 on the V1? Image quality for me would be plenty good enough but the big advantage would be in carrying only one large body.
With this set up I could have a wide-angled zoom on say my D300 and the 70-200 on the V1.
The more I think of it, the more I believe that a lot of pros will be carrying a 1 system camera. Most people don't need super quality images, they just need to get the job done.
As a side note, I shot the event with the AF 180mm f/2.8 and 16-35mm f/4. Hard work with the 180 since I was stuck to one place and one composition, and the focus tracking just couldn't quite follow the skiers. The V1 would have been seriously interesting (I would have had the 55-200mm on it).
