The original poster asked a question you will NOT find in general photography books.
I know of no photography book which explains that the amount of blur is dependent on aperture size.The OP clearly has a problem getting the concept (weird usage of 1.4 and 2 figures), but his questions are fine to ask here. No need to suggest they should read books.
