Full frame lenses advice
#12
Yes, it is full frame. It is one of the first lenses for the Nikon AF system.

It is not a very sharp lens for today's standards, but stopping down to f8 may get reasonable results. Of course, at 24mm it is not "ultra wide". And that 24mm will have quite some barrel distortion.

It is up to you to decide if the focal range is interesting for you.

All Nikon lenses which do not have "DX" in their name are full frame 135 format lenses. The "DX" lenses are designed for use as APS-C lens.

For Tokina, the APS-C designed lenses also have "DX" in the name.

For Tamron: Di II (Di being full frame, and no Di also full frame but older generations).

For Sigma: DC in the name for APS-C designed lenses. DG for FF and older generations have neither DG or DC and will always be FF.

Not of much value for you, but to make the list complete:

Canon: EF-S are APS-C lenses, EF full frame.

Sony: DT for APS-C lenses.

Pemtax: They just have one big confusing mess concerning APS-C/FF, too complex to explain here <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />
