Are we looking at the same thing? They look, for practical purposes, the same to me. I tried low and high ISO in RAW at that link. Then again I was never an obsessive pixel peeper.



Putting that aside, Canon do rank relatively low on DxO's sensor ranking, but don't forget the 18MP sensor currently used across most of the range is... about 2.5 years old now and is likely to be replaced shortly. Sony and others have refreshed since that time so it isn't surprising if they may gain an advantage in some areas. Most of the gain seems to be with greater measured dynamic range at low ISO.
