I actually shot the 30, 2 days after I acquired my GF2 a few months ago. Cheap and cheerful, and huge. I didn't like the fact that it si so big and "only" F/2.8. About mechanical wear: that needs to be seen. When you shake the lens, there definitely is something very, very loose and rattling loudly in there, so much so that it is definitely worrying. Even the camera store people were worried by this when i tried it. They did confirm with Sigma that this is supposed to be so. I reckon, a great lens for decentering problems, but then, I tend to be a little cynical when it comes to Sigma, based on past experiences.
Yep, not bad in the centre. Still huge and slow though, for an m43 lens. I'd rather spend a little more and go with a 20 F/1.7 and/or a 25 F/1.4. But that's me.
Kind regards, Wim

Hi Wim
described behavior is normal for this lens when the camera power is switched off. you can skae the camera - no nose at all. SImly the piezo legs are atached. For more info look at lenstip review. Their test shows 0% misses. Something dificult to see in lenstip review even for Canon ring USM lenses. However they mentioned that lens is prety slow - in terms of DOF it is 5,6 35mm equ.

Theoretically seen the linear motor - direct drive solutiones exclude all mechanical erors that other rotating motors have. That is why I said that Sigma is paving the way of next generation AF - as Canon did with ring USM in the past.
Lensrental score this lens higher than the reviewer expected. While I can put some doubt about the numbers under imatest, I should say that he is very technically experienced guy.
