Color and contrast behaviour of lenses

There are colour and contrast differences between lenses, but unless they're too severe you can turn it up in software later. I've had some shots taken with fogging on the lens which reduced contrast a lot, but it was largely recoverable in processing. For normal lens differences I wouldn't think it significant.

 

There was a good article I saw a long time ago describing how lens colour correction evolved through the decades. I do find the cheaper Sigma lenses to be quite yellow for example, but again you can neutralise this to a good degree in processing.
