Dead 17-85 IS again ...

Apparently this is an usual defect of that lens.



I have found that video showing how to fix it.

So this is probably a 10 cts part causing the defect.

The optical block has to be dismounted.

Is it likely that after such repair operation the lens will become decentered ?
