Yup, I traded that towards the 70-300L as I never used the f/2.8 to really keep it around. Not something I carry around "just in case", and planned uses are few and far between. I'll keep waiting for the 200-400 extender instead as I'll use a zoom a lot more.
Back on the 70-300L, while skimming the manual it does use the phrase "drip-proof" in it. No rain at the moment for me to test it out...
