The exif information is in part based on how the chip is programmed. My 1dMKIII and 1DsMKII bodies work fine now wirt Samyang 14mm with the Leica-r to eos -chip. The biggest advantage is, in my opinion, that the chip helps a lot in close up shots with the body´s af-peep sound. In landscape shots af is not absolutely needed because of the close hyperfocal distance.
