Personally I still think it wouldn't be a bad idea - it would be nice for users to compare field results from specific lenses in one gallery ... but I also understand the drawbacks it could have. A thread is one way to do it, but the nice thing about you galleries is that you have an instant view of the images, rather than having to scroll down a thread.

Couldn't it be done with tags? I don't see a tagging system in there, but it'd be nice to have anyway, and then you can just view all pictures tagged with "prime lens" as a virtual gallery rather than having to put some of your pictures in a separate gallery because of the lens you happened to use.
