Thanks for your test, Markus
What does the focusshift mean in practical use. Is manual focus needed with lower apertures or is there any correction done by the camera itself? What are your practical experiences?

Thanks for the review.
I'm very impressed by Nikon. They're making so many new prime lenses recenly.
But they still lack an affordable high pixel-count FF camera like the 5d2 or a900.

Markus, thanks for the great review!
Sorry to ask for this, but some times I am confused by "focus shift". Is it possible to add the definition of it in PZ glossary page where you explain the basic terms about photography? Thanks in advance.

Focus shift; basically closing the aperture changes the point of focus.
I've never bothered to look up why this is the case; though I'm sure someone with a bit of physics in their background could explain it.
What I do not understand is why cameras are not programmed to compensate.

One link:
Focus Shift
Slightly off topic: I now find myself jumping around the digitalrev videos... quite entertaining although I'm not going to take their results too seriously.

Also check the LoCA test results to observe this... The focus shifts with greater f-stops (upwards in 2D image, further in 3D space).
