Some nice improvements: new (multi-aspect?) sensor, electronic shutter, high-res display etc., etc. The G5 may well be my next MFT cam.
Here is the review at ephotozine: http://www.ephotozine.com/article/panasonic-lumix-dmc-g5-dslm-review-19689
It seems dpreview provided initially wrong data concerning the sensor, which indicated that the G5 would feature a multi-aspect sensor. Unfortunately, Pana decided to cripple the G5 in this regard.

Not sure why they only put the multi aspect sensors only in the GH series... maybe it is a problem fabricating them (they obviously are bigger than the other sensors Pana produces?). And of course, the heavy price permium they (can) ask for the GH series would fall away when the G-series got the same sensor size.
Indeed, it would be nice to have the GH-series-sized sensors in the compacts too.
It´s all about the ideas of Pana about what kind of market segments they want. The G5 and the GH2 sensors are of identical size, some believe that the G5 sensor is in fact the GH2 sensor with the multi-aspect functionality simply being disabled. I think they would be more competitive with a different approach, in which the GH series would provide the best they can do for video and stills, while the G series would represent the best for stills. As it stands, every cam below their flagship model (the GH series) is crippled in an increasingly irritating fashion.
