Quote:Interesting report from the Zeiss stand at PhotokinaThanks for the interesting link. Interesting to see how they openly address the sensor stack issue (I've been following the LensRentals articles). I seem to recall that one of the first Zeiss blog articles introducing the Loxia made a point of pointing out that the Loixa was more economical than a ZM + adapter which in retrospect seems like an indirect way of telling people that the ZM lenses are not so good on the A7x series...while not trying to kill ZM sales...
Look at the photo of coffee cup.
The loxia Biogon 35 performs much better than the ZM Biogon 35 on the A7R.
It seems that the Loxia would be ZM formulas with added compensation for sensor glass thikness.
More on this issue on lens rental:
Now lets hope for a Loxia 21mm.
My Biogon 21/2.8 is super sharp in the center on A7R, but with horrible color smear & softness in the corners.
The Otus 85 on A7R image is pretty compelling too...
