Scanner settings for scanning MF film (120) for Epson V750?

This is a film photography related question.


What is your Epson V750 scanner settings for scanning MF film (120 and 220)? I would like to scan film MF film.

How could we know? The scanner itself has no settings, so you're referring to software.

 

Tell us
  • the purpose of the scans: overview like a contact-sheet or wall size prints?
  • the kind of films you like to scan: negative b/w, negative color, slides? This is related to dust removal, which will take more time first and saves you some time afterwards
  • the software you're using and maybe the OS you're computer is working with

Up to 4.5 years ago I used to scan MF film on an Epson 4990. I used vuescan which allows using calibration targets. They calibrating clearly helped. I mostly scanned slides (Favorit film Kodak E100G). Negatives were always a bit tricky to get good colour. Still I had better results with vuescan.


Don't remember many details after that time. Is stopped it because I moved country and processing here is way more expensive. Finding the time to do it is also an issue.


My tip: explore vuescan. Good luck.
