I've tested the Sigma AF 30mm f/2.8 DN A - "missing" CA?
#1
Hello.

Today I've run a comparative test of the Sigma AF 30mm f/2.8 DN A (not EX) against my Nikkor AF-S 35mm f/1.8G (with a NEX-6 and a D5100). There's something I don't understand as I don't see any chromatic aberration with the Sigma - see the image below, taken from the border. It's the screenshot from a Lightroom 5 compare view.

Of course, I've checked that the "Enable profile corrections" and "Remove chromatic aberration" are both disabled (actually the raw files are straight after import, no post-processing changes applied; the Nikkor image sample actually shows the CA).

Does the NEX-6 run some software correction even for raw files? I mean: I know that modern cameras do "something" before producing raw files, but also CA correction?

Well, I can exclude errors in processing, as the file converted by dcraw looks consistent. I posted all the test images to my blog.
