Interesting test. I guess all that can be expected from that design at that price. I'll stay with my Pan 14mm.

Well, I was wondering where are the new reviews... and we got this. At least it's fun. Wouldn't have looked out of place on April 1st. This year is too late, but Pentax is due to make a body cap "lens" for the Q; take note for the April next year! Smile

In case anybody is wondering, SLRGear has reviewed this, ahem, item last December:

They didn't find the outer image region to be as woefully soft as you did.

Hi,

Looking at he photos from the lens  (some decent shots actually) to me it shows that even with a mediocre optic some good shots can be had, the pink flower shot is sharp and well focused and there's an absence of fringing and a couple of others could pass as a reasonable lens with a 6X8" print. It's a bit of fun from olympus!  Now for the Pentax.

You will get your 17mm review this week.

Well I'm not too sure what to make of this comment. Remember those $15 dollar disposable cameras could with a bit of technique produce decent images as well. The trick was that they use very slow fix focus lens. This thing is F8 which probably helps a lot with regards to the 'quality' cheap design.

The thing is pretty cool as mentioned in the review ... but is it better than a good phone lens ?
