Interesting choice PZ 14-42 instead of Pana 12-35.

Mainly cause of size/weight, isn't it?



I'm thinking of buying the 12-35 to replace my 12-50 with which I'm not really happy regarding image quality. Size-wise they are comparable.

But I would rather prefer something with the range 12-60 and a little bit darker. But there is no such lens...

I wasn't that impressed by the Pana 12-35. Actually I consider high-speed standard lenses to be rather useless. Compared to primes in this range they are slow beast with a comparatively poor bokeh. Technically the 12-35/2.8 is really a 24-70/5.6 in terms of DOF so it's a pointless thing really. Thus I'm combining slow-speed standard zoom lenses with a high speed prime.





There have been rumors that Olympus is planning to deliver a 12-60 but so far ...
