Just to add, in terms of DOF this is absolutely right, but as a travel lens this is sometimes even preferable.

And you still have the light gathering ability of f 2.8..... (BTW this is a feat highly appreciated by my PL 25 1.4, the extra DOF makes it even more usable wide open on social events; I choose f1.4-2 for one person and f2.8-4 for a group of people; DOF and AF-accuracy made my Nikon 35 f1.8 less useable under available light situations on social events compared to the PL 25).



Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself to buy this lens.... (and after a m.Z 12-60 gets announced I would certainly deeply regret the money spent..... nonetheless a P12-35 is already on order, I will field-test it and keep it if I'm absolutely convinced or send it back if I'm not).
