Sigma 35mm f1.4: Sharp. Smooth foreground bokeh. Bad background bokeh.

Image #1: background (center of 2nd flower) looks busy

Image #2: edgy highlight shapes

Image #3 & #4: extreme focus spread - most lenses produce a smooth out-of-focus zone in such scenarios

Also ... http://www.pbase.com/image/37178864 or http://www.pbase.com/image/69032227 ... hardly impressive.

1. Yes, it does look busy. No, it is not nisen bokeh like as with the Sigma 35mm f1,4. Yes, there are a few (few) better 35mm FF lenses, including 2 or 3 Zeiss designs.

2. Uhmm... edgy? Do you mean 5 sided? Of course 5 sided. The bokeh itself is very smooth for a 35mm lens in this image.

3 & 4 No idea what you mean? Making things up?

To be clear on something... I am not saying the Canon EF 35mm f2 is the best lens in anything, I listed it with a whole bunch of other 35mm lenses that do not have the double line-ness that the Sigma f1.4 is showing in the sources I linked to. Trying to curb the trolling here.
