New Sony stuff (Alpha 99, NEX 6 & E-lenses)
#1
NEX 6:

NEX 7 v2.0. That's how the NEX 7 should have been then.

SLT-A99:

http://presscentre.sony.eu/content/default.aspx?NewsAreaId=2

Impressive albeit probably a bit too expensive to make a big impact.

RX-1:

Well ...

Sony E 35mm f/1.8:

Yes, needed.

Sony E 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6

http://www.sony.co.uk/product/dal-travel/sel-p1650

I'm afraid of the performance of this cheapo. Not to mention centering.

Sony E 10-18mm f/4

Nice - hopefully.

Overall it is still a positive step for the NEX system, and Alpha users get some new toys. That leaves Canon as the lowest resolution full frame player, if it not significantly so.

Also a Planar T * 50mm F1.4 ZA SSM due spring 2013. Wonder if it'll be optically based on the ZE/ZF versions, or will it be a bit more different. At least it's got AF...
dA Canon 7D2, 7D, 5D2, 600D, 450D, 300D IR modified, 1D, EF-S 10-18, 15-85, EF 35/2, 85/1.8, 135/2, 70-300L, 100-400L, MP-E65, Zeiss 2/50, Sigma 150 macro, 120-300/2.8, Samyang 8mm fisheye, Olympus E-P1, Panasonic 20/1.7, Sony HX9V, Fuji X100.

Pretty impressive release I think <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Klaus, just curious, why do you think the a99 is too expensive?

It's comparable to the D800 and cheaper than the 5DmkIII while offering quite a bunch of outstanding features for its segment.

The NEX6 is cool, like you said. Just curious about that 24mp aps-c sensor not being used anymore. Is that a silent acknowledgment of the corner issues?

Well, the D800 has more MPs and as such the A99 should be cheaper - at least if they want more market share.

Unlikeky. The focus group is different between AF and MF lenses.

Do you want use the NEX-7 for more reviews or use a camera with a 16MP sensor?
#8
I'm hopeful the nex 6 will fix the corner issue (ala the nex 5n arrangements) if so it might be more viable for testing even if lower resolution than the nex 7
#9
The Nex 6 becomes a direct competitor to the Fuji EX-1. Same price, same specs although to me the Fuji has a much nicer design AND some glass begind the body!!

Looking at the previous review of the ZE/ZF version "The lens does extend marginally when focusing towards close distances" which could be managed by mechanical design. I'm also wondering how much variation do you have while keeping the lens a "Planar".
