Sorry to come late to this. Just stumbled across the LL-article cited above. Sigma sells an SLR with that sensor, if one can still stand the bulk of an SLR or really wants a different focal length. Dpreview gave that SLR their treatment, so one can play with the comparison tools on their site.
Looking at the discussion on the non-bayer sensors (also Fujis effords) it seems there is presently such an high investment in the software, algorithm etc in how to make good pictures from Bayer sensors, that this is essentially looking in the industry into this and it quite costly about breaking free. The lack of RAW support is an often mentioned problem with the Fuji and Sigma cameras. Will be interesting to watch whether either of them manages to replace Bayer in the long run.
