You can shoot color at ISO 100 and 200, and use higher ISO's for black and white shooting.

High ISOs are not good for color photography.

One thing which i really like: you get fantastic black and white pictures which i can abuse in channel mixer without worrying about degradation. The look is different and there's a lot of information in the files. I can get subtle nuances of tones while converting to black and white.

Color: The whole look and pallet is different. I don't know if colors are accurate, it has little practical relevance for me because my photography hardly requires reproduction of accurate colors. But they are different and nice. The blues and magentas get a charming hue sometimes depending on the subject.

I am thinking of getting a Merrill 1 also for wide angle.

By and large, i am still playing with the camera.

I had the DP1x a while ago and am tempted by the DP1 Merrill.



Did you use Sigma Photo Pro for processing and your B/W conversions? Or do you find the JPEG output sufficiently good?
