I haven't either, actually. And I only owned and tested 7 in the past, and a Mk I. From my experience it focused better than the 50 F/1.4.
It is just that in dark circumstances, one has to be careful where to focus. And although that is true for any lens.due to the limits of the AF system, with an AFD stepper motor or micromotor for AF that is more true than with a USM ring AF mechanism. Even so, I never had any problems with AF and the 50 F.1.8.
