Inflation of 35 mm lenses: here we go with Samyang
#1
Samyang has announced the AF 35mm F2.8 FE (with autofocus, as the name says). It sounds nice - and it's only 85 g. Sigma is supposed to announce a 35 mm as part of the new FE lenses... Nice, but maybe some 35mm less in favour of some other focal would be more interesting.  ^_^

I understand your point, that's a lot of 35mm lenses. But on the other hand, the compact form factor of a A7 series with a compact 35mm lens makes for what Leicas are used for most, street phoptography camera.

See this small Samyang as a Sony FE counterpart to the Fuji 23mm f2 or Canon 22mm f2?

What is funny: "Circular aperture with 7 blades". Yet there is nothing circular about the aperture when closed down.

I see it and I'd like it - I don't feel the urgency of buying it because I have a Sigma f/2.8, and it's small and good enough (for APS-C), even though not as small and light.

Anyway, there's also a Sony 35 mm f/2.8 FE, which again is not small as the Samyang, but not much larger. Ok, the Samyang is 2.5x cheaper... Let's see the optical quality.

PS I won't buy more hardware for this year (the next buy could be Final Cut Pro)... But should I replace my 35 mm f/2.8 I'd rather look at the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 - it has excellent reviews, even full open. Yes, it's not as small, but definitely more flexible. f/2.8 is quite slow for 30/35mm...

For APS-C I would prefer a 30mm f1.4 too. But for FF, this lens is a nice little street photography lens. For those who are into that.
