While I appreciate speed (the 16-80 doesn't even offer that), I am afraid that just doesn't look right to me. An Olympus E-P3 with a m.Zuiko 12/2 or 45/1.8 is just such a beauty in comparison.

The E-P3 is a very nice looking camera and yes, the 12/2 and 45/1.8 are also marvels. However, it is dated on the technology side and it doesn't really look so nice anymore when using Panasonic lenses which have a very different styling.
So if you ask me I'd more favor the GX-1 with Leica 25/1.4 on the MFT side of life.
Anyway, you are absolutely right that it is of limited size/weight appeal to use A-mount lenses on the NEX 7. However, technically this works all just fine and can be regarded as a substitution for a DSLR. The approach works much better than the FT-to-MFT adapter for instance (with the exception of the Leica 14-150).
