Fuji with interchangeable lenses
#1
Here we go. Fuji is bringing out the successor to the X100 in the new year. APS sensor and several new lenses. There are photos of a supposed "prototype" in a French magazine and the info is backed up by an interview with a Japanese exec of Fuji. He promises a sensor that will leave everything we know in the dust ISO wise. Fuji has the engineering ready and the "brevets" back it up. Should be an interesting competitor to the M9 and much more user friendly; Price range indicated is 1500€, body only. Do we see the future on the horizon?

Is it an APS sensor ? I thought the rumours were for something a bit larger. I hope this is a competitor to the NEX system rather than the M9 (at least in price). Historically fuji has fantastic lenses.... a place where sony has so far failed to execute (imho).

I think there was a rumour that someone in Fuji said "better than full frame" but that wasn't in reference to the sensor size, but in some other way of its workings.

Here is what the magazine article says:
  • it is to be called X1 Pro and will appear in feb 2012
  • the sensor will be a CMOS better than FF sensors of DSLRs today with respect to DR and ISO and most probably an APS-C
  • 3 lenses are rumoured to be in the tube; 18mm f2, 35mm f1.4 and a zoom!
  • same visor as the X100
A PR executive of Fuji France only says that the new system will have better performance than todays FF sensors.

I am not the source nor am I rsponsible for this info <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

That's pretty much the rumors going around, except for the name (LX vs X1 Pro) and the third lens (60mm vs zoom). What's the name of the magazine, and do they have pictures?

Well with sony delay of the nex-7; this might be interesting. I wonder what sort of viewfinder it will have.

The magazine ASSUMES the same as the X100, but they do not pretend to know.
