Manual focus lenses (tend to) have a different design. The focus group can be much bigger simply because there's no need for a motor to move the lens group. Focus friction is therefore not a limiting factor here.
I'm not totally sure but I think that most of the modern Samyangs have a basic coupling on Pentax (and Nikon).
