I'm afraid I can't say anything about an old Tokina 100 f/2.8 macro. The new Pentax/Tokina 100mm f/2.8 macro, however, is AFAIK a different optical design than the FA 100mm f/2.8 macro. The current Tokina 100 and the Pentax DFA and DFA WR indeed shares the same optics in different barrels.
About the build quality:
- the FA 100mm f/2.8 (which I have) is a solid, heavy piece of metal.
- the DFA 100mm f/2.8 has a cheap plastic construction (a big step back)
- the new DFA WR has a nice Limited-like body - full metal "shell", while not as heavy as the FA. However, it lacks the FA's focus limiter.
