It was a wild mix in terms of altitude gain per day. Including the ups & downs perhaps 800m on the average so it wasn't too heavy actually. The biggest gain at one day was ~1350m. The biggest drop was ~2500m (my knees were mud thereafter ...).

The last village was at 2800m I think. However, we used a tent throughout the trip.

The Dhaulagiri circuit is substantially different compared to the more popular Annapurna trek. We saw very few other tourists for instance.
