It is. I gave the A77, the A65 and the NEX-7 a try in the local Sony store this week and their EVF is really more than a step above the A55. There is 3D in its look and it really shines in dim light, where an OVF would just look like this - dim. As soon as they make a camera of the A55 form factor with the new EVF, I will want one. Together with these nice little lenses like the 35/1.8 or the 85/2.8 this will make a good light-weight setup.
