Nikon 12-24mm AF back focus?

Hi folks,

An update...

I sent the D7000 off to Nikon UK, after a couple of conversations with the Service department, with the 12-24, plus 50mm 1.4G and 85mm 1.8D as I wanted to be sure those latter two lenses were calibrated to work as well as possible - with Nikon's advice about any fine-tuning needed.

Nikon have checked and adjusted AF on the body to Nikon standard, and cleaned (and checked) the sensor again (I asked them to. Must learn how to do that myself - it's going to get expensive sending to Nikon each time <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />)

They've also checked and adjusted resolution (as / where necessary, I assume - they don't say), again 'to Nikon standard', and checked 'infinity focus', for each lens. And cleaned lens elements on the 85mm and 12-24 mm 'as best possible' (I don't know why they give that caveat, but I guess that's standard).

I haven't taken many pics so far, other than a few informal (no focus chart!) test shots - mostly in poor light / with flash. Happily, my initial impression is that all seems to be working as it should be without any AF fine-tuning needed.

Overall cost for this was just £25.50, plus £6 postage - or about 37 euros.

I'm really very impressed with this, and happy.

And I wouldn't have known the camera needed servicing if I hadn't bought the 12-24 and set about testing it as thoroughly as I did, stressful as that process was at the time!

So, seems Shakespeare's might be appropriate again...! (AWTEW)

That's amazing value from Nikon - if a zero were added to the price I would not be shocked

Well done
