Rob who? Another random internet ranter? There are too many people out there who write with their own narrow views and fails to see the bigger picture.
Anyway, one size does not fit all. The 1D X is clearly targeted at some areas, which leaves other areas open. Canon signalled a change of direction starting with the 7D, then 60D, now the 1D X. We have to see what is their next move from this shuffle of positions.
I expect to see other bodies which will fill those gaps. I specifically wouldn't rule out another high resolution full frame body to be announced later - say within a year? I think there is one thing that is clear from the so called "MP wars", which is the even worse informed "anti-MP" crowd who often have significant failings in understanding basic physical and electronic properties.
