It may sell well for Nikon logo lovers. For the rest it is just a small sensor camera with too big lenses to be pocketable and point and shoot compact digital handling.

The cameras have a very unattractive design and finish, though... unusual, as the latest Nikon cameras (DSLR and compact digital) did not fall from the ugly tree. Even the name (Nikon "1") is kind of badly "designed".

So, it may sell well, for its logo appeal, to people who have no business buying a more serious photographic tool. And maybe there are some niche markets that we are not imagining yet.

And for a compact camera P&S, its performance is impressive (AF, fast FPS).

I too would like to know its flange distance...
