I disagree here. A few months back a client requested a print of 180x 120cm from one of pics (my gallery limits prints to 120cm on the longest side) I had to turn her down because after a test print we both had to agree that this size was beyond the capabilities of the 15Mp sensor of the 50D, at least if somthing like fine art quality was required. I wish I already had had my 5d MII to take that picture. Now dont tell me to use MF for such use prints. I am a travel photographer, equipment has to be light, flexible and portable. MF is therefore out of the question. Therefore I love as many MP as manufacturers can put into a camera while keeping noise performance the same. As long as modern high MP cameras can achieve the same high iso perfomance as older cameras (and be it only by scaling the image down) more MP are a bonus, that can be exploited at least in low iso shots.
