It has a 4x crop factor. That's not too bad (8.8x6.6mm = 58 sqmm).
1/1.7" = 6.6x5.3mm = 35 sqmm.
So the X10 sensor is 65% bigger than in the other "enthusiast" digicams.
It's still much smaller than 4/3 (@225 sqmm)
