nex Sony Alpha & NEX cameras

The format to compare to is actually meaningless. The pricing must be the leading aspect.

The cameras they have in comparison include $10,000 645D, $8,000 D3x, $8,000 Canon 1Ds Mark III

But no 7D, D7000, K-5 (obvious choices)?

I think that the 5D II and A850 are also viable candidates for comparison.

The 7D has also been compared to the 5D II.

NEX-7 + LA-EA2 = truly modular system? Tempting, pity it's so expensive <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Just use the NEX-5n instead of the NEX-7 ...

That's all good but there are no APSC cameras in the list.

Probably they will fix it tommorow

Well, they are comparing it with other 20+ MP cameras, which makes some sense IMO.

However, the samples overthere look very poor, too.

Yes, the samples look mediocre. Hopefully just poor JPEG processing.

The 16-50 doesn't seem to be stellar either at the wide-end.

. . . need to go into the shop, take raw pictures, take them home (if they'll let youSmile and check for your(my)self . . . for me there's no other way to be sure

If Sony intermix between their SLR and compact groups, then I'd have to guess the NR might be applied rather strongly particularly at higher ISO, based on my experience with the HX9V. RAW would probably help.

It sound like the new cameras lack IS given that the new lenses have image stabilization. Is this the case? If so any clue why sony dropped the sensor shift of the earlier bodies ?

The A65/A77 have in-body IS.

The NEX camera have not - probably to keep the size as minimal as possible.

NEX-5N ($600) plus LA-EA2 ($400) plus FDA-EV1S ($350) = $1350 without a single lens. The LA-EA2 looks mighty ugly...
