For sure one can add the VF-2 finder, but that will eat the flash connector, which is important for an outdoor shoot of people (e.g. wedding type situation).
There were some reference to an Olympus patent using special IR pixels and the green pixels for focussing recently. If you have info on the dispersion of the lens that can give you info on which way to move the lens to get clearer focus without actually moving it. Not sure whether or not this made it into the present set of bodies.
Considering the differentiation, isn't that becoming common in industry right now? How about a Nikon D7000 and D5100? Same sensor but different number of AF points, dials, tilting vs fixed LCD.
