Would just like to ask, how does the 85mm f1.4G fare as a landscape travel lens, as i am currently trying to consolidate my lenses. I have a 85mm f1.4D and a 100mm Zeiss. I am thinking perhaps selling both and using the G for dual purposes. [/quote]
If you don't need the close focus of the Zeiss lens, that sounds like a good idea to me. Personally I consider 85mm and 100/105mm too close in focal length and angle of view to carry both.

And Markus, do you mind letting me know if the corner sharpness testing on photozone was done via focusing in a far distance or close?

The MTF testing on FX is done at roughly 40x the focal length, so around 3.4 meters for the 85/1.4 G. On DX its 60x the focal length.
